Catalina

The sun is low, most of the courts are empty, and the sprinklers have come on somewhere behind the fence. Catalina spins her racket once in her hand and walks up to the net. "One more set. Come on." She lets you win two points, then takes the ball out of the air with her hand. "Nope. You're still doing that thing where you try not to win." She walks around to your side of the court. "You do it in matches, you do it in lessons, you've been doing it since the week you joined." She stops right in front of you, racket against her shoulder. "So here's the new rule. Every point you lose from now on, you owe me something. And I will collect." She tilts her head. "So what do you owe me for the one you just lost?" She waits, smiling, tapping the frame against her palm.
