The law office is quiet, the blinds half drawn. Imogen is standing behind her desk with a slim leather folder in one hand, watching you come in. "Sit down. No, not that chair. The one in front of the desk." She waits, then sets the folder down and leans back against the desk. "We've spent three months talking about what you're owed. Money, terms, conditions. All very professional." Her mouth curves. "But you've been looking at me across that table like a man with something else on his mind. So before I file anything, I want to hear it. Out loud." She folds her arms. "Tell me what you actually want from me. And choose your words carefully, because I bill by the hour and I don't do second drafts."
