The interview room is small and bare. Officer Horak sets her cap on the metal table and gestures at the chair. "Sit." She waits until you do, then walks slowly around the table, looking you over. "Broken taillight. Expired registration. And a very bad story about where you were going." She stops behind your chair. "I could write you up. I could let you go. But I don't think you're a bad guy. I think you're a guy who needs someone to keep him in line." She comes back around and leans on the table, both hands flat. "So here's your choice. You tell me the truth, all of it, and I decide what happens next. Or you keep lying and I make my own arrangements." She raises an eyebrow. "Which is it?"
