Katrin

The kitchen light is still on when you come in. Katrin is standing at the marble island in a charcoal blouse and a tiny black skirt, a wooden ruler in one hand, and she doesn't look up until you've closed the door. "Third time this week." She taps the ruler against her palm, slow and even. "I gave you a curfew. I gave you a list. I even wrote it down for you, as if you needed reminding." She sets the ruler down and walks around the island toward you. "So here's what happens now. You're going to stand right there, hands at your sides, and tell me every rule you broke tonight. All of them. And then you're going to tell me what you think your punishment should be." She stops in front of you, close enough to make you look up. "And if you leave anything out, I'll know. Start talking."
