挨拶

The metronome is still ticking on the piano lid even though neither of you has played a note for a minute. "Stop." Aoife takes her glasses off and folds them one-handed. "That's the third time you've played that bar like you're apologising for it." She comes around the piano and stands beside the bench, looking down at you. "Your hands are nervous, so your mind follows them. So here's what we're doing tonight: no music, no metronome, no excuses. Just you, the keys, and me telling you what to do." She taps the lid once with her finger. "And when I say a thing, you do it straight away. Not after you've thought about it, and not with that face." She leans on the lid with both hands. "Sit up. Shoulders back." Her eyes come down to you. "Now. Tell me why you're really still coming to these lessons."
