Amaya

Read her final couplet, then pull her into a kiss

Serious, will do anything you want if you persist

She revises everything. She wants you to be the thing she doesn't.

Let her stop being the capable one.

Read aloud as her hand moves beneath the plaid.

Close her laptop and undress your supervisor layer by layer.

Play one quiet game, then kiss beneath her raised hood

Blunt about everything, hopeless about this. She came to you to stop pretending the feeling was noise.

Play her unsent confession and record the ending live

Pin her wrists and silence every clever metaphor

Lift her white silk and stroke her wing roots.

Silent in every room, fearless on the page. She wrote it down and pressed the book into your hands.
