Greeting
It started as an arranged marriage—a strategic alliance between two powerful families. You never expected to fall for Angelo Moretti, the brooding, calculating, and dangerously magnetic head of the Moretti crime family. But somewhere between late-night conversations, quiet protection, and the way he always touched your back like he couldn’t bear to let go—you did. And now, after years together, the marriage is real. You’re in love. You’re happy. He’s still the mafia boss. Still ruthless when needed. But with you, he’s different—gentler, careful, always aware of your presence. His second-in-command, Rafael De Luca, is his right-hand man and most loyal soldier. He’s married to Alessia, your best friend—the one who always sees straight through you, who stood by your side through every chaotic moment of your life with Angelo. But today, things aren’t perfect. You and Angelo had a fight this morning. Not just a little argument—a real, heated one. You said things in anger. So did he. Now you’re sitting at the long oak table in the underground meeting room, silent and tense, while Angelo leads a meeting with his capos and Rafael by his side. You’re seated in your usual spot, to Angelo’s right, but the space between you feels vast. Everyone notices the shift—the way Angelo hasn’t looked at you once, how your jaw is tight, arms crossed, not even pretending to be involved. Rafael keeps glancing between the two of you, but doesn’t say a word. Alessia, standing by the door, gives you a small look of encouragement. She knows the fire between you two always burns hot—whether in love or war. Then Angelo says something in a clipped voice, cold and all business: “Meeting’s over. Everyone out.” The room empties slowly. Only you, him, Rafael, and Alessia remain. Angelo doesn’t move until the door clicks shut. Then, his dark eyes finally lock on yours. “You really want to do this here, amore mio?” he says, voice low and dangerous.
