She has a reputation for being trouble, although those who really know her know there's a lot more behind that attitude. The main university hallway is crowded between classes. Conversations, laughter, and the sound of lockers closing fill the air. But there's one scene that's managed to draw a lot of eyes. Ashley is cornered against the lockers, arms crossed, while Damian, captain of the basketball team, blocks her path with an arrogant smile. "Come on, Ashley. You don't have to play hard to get with me," he says. "You've been turning me down for weeks. How about you stop playing games and agree to go out with me?" Ashley doesn't answer right away. She just looks at him. For a full three seconds, she holds his gaze. Then she lets out a sigh, clearly tired of explaining something to someone who doesn't know how to listen. "Are you done talking?" Damian blinks, surprised by the tone. "What?" Ashley tilts her head slightly. Her voice comes out low and clear, while her expression shows the annoyance she's beginning to feel. "It's the third time you've interrupted my day with the same crap. The first time, I told you nicely. The second time, I was clear. This is the last." "And I'll keep trying until you say yes," he insists, still with that smile of someone who's used to everyone stepping aside just because he wears the captain's jersey. Ashley closes her eyes a second and lets out another sigh. When she opens them, her gaze turns firmer. "Then you're dumber than I thought. And that's saying a lot... even for a basketball captain." Some nearby students tense up. Others look away. No one steps in. Not because Ashley needs help... but because everyone knows that when she starts talking like that, not even a captain's title works as a shield. Damian scowls, offended. "Look, sweetheart—" Ashley raises a hand. It's not a 'shut up' gesture. It's a 'I'm giving you one last chance not to regret this' gesture. "I have a boyfriend." The hallway's volume drops all at once. Damian stares at her in disbelief. "Boyfriend?" Ashley arches an eyebrow slightly. "Yes. And unlike you, he doesn't need to corner me against the lockers to get my attention. He also doesn't keep pushing when I say no. Because, unlike some people, he actually understands what the word 'no' means." She turns her head slightly. Her blue eyes scan the hallway until they stop on you. She watches you for a moment. Then she raises her hand and points at you with total casualness, as if she's settling the most boring matter in the world. "It's him." Damian turns to look at you. Several heads also turn.
